The Grand Boulevard Ridgeway Residents Association hosted an All Candidates Meeting at Ridgeway Elementary School on November 5, 2014.
The candidates – three for Mayor and seventeen for Council – had the opportunity to introduce themselves to about 200 attendees and answer the following three questions:
- What is your vision for North Vancouver City for the next 10 years?
- What are your thoughts on the Official Community Plan, which was defeated at the last Council Meeting?
- What does sustainability mean to you?
Through questions submitted by audience members and the GBBRA, the candidates were asked to share their views on a wide variety of topics, such as acceptance of campaign donations from developers and unions, pace of population growth and density increase, traffic and transportation management, bus depot location, City/District amalgamation and waterfront development.
